Houzz Tour: Elegant Twist on Eclectic Decor

Designer Ann West has predicted this Washington D.C. residence home for more than 15 decades. In that moment, she has collected a mix of unique antiques, upholstery and dyes and accumulated them in fairly vignettes: Tailored furniture at the formal living area is surrounded by groups of patina mirrors, classic church relics, French-country protects, and finely framed drawings.

While the overall impact feels very elegant, there’s a high/low caliber to the space which gives it a well casual vibe. A salon group of art and other bits doesn’t feel overly calculated or measured. Family photographs are grouped together in front of stacks of books, providing the family area a practicality. All in all, the space is a lesson in beautifully appointed rooms which are also wrought.
