Can you look around your house and think things seem too heavy? Or maybe you’ve succumbed to the McMansion bigger-is-better trend. My initial instinct in winter is to cut the excess flotsam and jetsam and actually start fresh. With the new year particularly, I love to think that it’s time to trim the fat.
It seems these Norwegian designs do exactly that — referencing a bit of turn-of-the-20th-century design aesthetic as they go. Take any basic chair form and cut any holes in it. It is like plastic surgery for your furniture; it’ll seem thinner then. If furniture can get healthier, I think these chairs are on the ideal path.
